Saiku 3.1 will be delivered to some beta testers this week which is good news as its taken long enough to get the new features implemented to our satisfaction and means we can start on the next great improvement. If everything goes according to plan Saiku 3.1 will have its major release on March 30th.
Coming in Saiku 3.1 Standalone is the Saiku Schema Designer. We appreciate that migrating to Mondrian 4 is probably a daunting experience and if you’ve never written a schema by hand, probably not something you really want to do(I can vouch for that). So we have created a schema designer that will allow you to get started in a much quicker fashion that having to hand crank your own schema.
Saiku will allow you to connect to a database, create your schema and save it to the repository, making creating Saiku data sources much easier than it was before.
We have a even simpler version on our roadmap, but hopefully this will be enough to get you new users started quickly!
